Meet the Physicians and Providers

Dr. Veronica Efros 

- Board Certified in General Family Practice and other subspecialties, with over 11 years of direct patient care experience, active practicing in SC and NC. She joined the Palmetto Wellness and Injury Center Team in 2017 as Director of Osteoarthritis Knee Program to offer and provide alternative non -surgical patient care  - evaluation, physical examination, diagnosis, recommendations and treatment with nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic (non - opioid) interventions for symptomatic osteoarthritis of the knee.  With nearly 30 million people in US suffering from OsteoArthtitis (OA), with the knees being one of the most common affected areas, and other multiple joints and musculoskeletal disorders- Dr. Efros' care is very much for the patients at PWIC.

Dr. Efros provides her treatment with excellent patient satisfaction and the main goals of the patient’s general wellness including pain reduction, improving quality of life and  long term ability to function better, without surgical interventions.  Since 2017, Dr. Efros has achieved great results providing best FDA approved long-term, interventional, painless, treatment of symptomatic knee pain in patients with osteoarthritis of the knees and other types of arthritis.

With training and certification, and an active Member of International Academy of Aesthetics  - Dr Efros also focuses on providing individual and unique cosmetic treatments, based on  patient needs – including Botulinum Toxin injections in addition to other products.  By offering treatment through identifying the causes of aging and trying to oppose those causes in order to slow aging such as - frown lines and crow's feet which are the cosmetic indications approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and horizontal forehead lines, offers predictable results, has few adverse effects, and is associated with high patient satisfaction.

Dr Efros -as part of the multidisciplinary team care of Palmetto Wellness and Injury Center - provides additional patient care including medical diagnosis and treatment of other joints and muscle disorders; offering  various non-surgical pain management therapies to help patients who are dealing with all types of conditions, such as: knee pain, joint pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, sciatic nerve pain, arthritis in the knee and much more.

Dr. Cutter Newton is a Chiropractor who was born in Powder Springs, Georgia but raised in
Bennettsville, South Carolina for most of his life. He received his first chiropractic adjustment
when he was only a day old and received steady chiropractic care for most of his life. Dr. Cutter
graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2017 with a major in Biology and a minor in
English. He’d spent time shadowing/volunteering for a local veterinarian as well as assisting his
advisor with research at Fort Jackson. Eventually, he attended a Showcase Sherman at Sherman
College of Chiropractic, rediscovered his love of chiropractic philosophy, and graduated in 2021.
While in school, he was an active member of the T.I.C. (Tonal Integrative Correction) club and
honed his technique with his peers. Dr. Cutter doesn’t just want to help his patients FEEL better,
he also wants his patients to BE better. He believes that through a combination of art, science,
and philosophy, everyone who comes under his care can be improved physically, mentally, and
emotionally.
Dr. Newton will be practicing in both the Cheraw and Bennettsville PWIC locations.

Elizabeth Chavis, LMT, BCTMB is a Licensed and Board-Certified Massage Therapist, specializing in pain and injury management. She graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College in 2014 and is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP). She owned and operated Healing Hands Massage Therapy for 8 years, during this time she perfected her technique combining both Swedish and Deep tissue massage with myofascial release techniques. In 2018 her specialized technique won her Best of Massage in the Pee Dee.

She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband and 3 kids. She is very active in her church, enjoys running, and reading. She has a love for helping people feel their absolute best and enjoy a pain free life!

Dr. Ray Stroup has been with PWIC since 2002 when it began in Bennettsville.  He treats Chiropractic patients in both the Bennettsville and Cheraw locations.

Originally from Clinton, IL- Dr. Stroup graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. He then attended Logan University in Chesterfield, MO where he attained a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2000. 
Following graduation, he practiced in Clinton, IL until relocating to Bennettsville in 2002 and beginning the PWIC practice there.  In 2007 PWIC became a multi-disciplinary practice when 2 MDs joined the team and began treating patients also.

In 2009 Dr. Stroup began doing medical consulting and helped establish multiple interventional pain practices around the country. 
From 2016 – 2018 Dr. Stroup joined the ownership team of Lynx Healthcare and helped establish multiple locations in WA, OR and NM.

Upon returning from WA, Dr. Stroup established the Cheraw, SC PWIC location in November of 2019.

In December of 2021, Dr. Stroup established the MedSpa on Market at 403 E Market St. in Bennettsville - renovating a long-time primary care practice facility. The MedSpa on Market provides Therapeutic Massage, Esthetics services and Medical Aesthetics solutions for our patients.

In April of 2022, Dr. Stroup relocated the PWIC of Cheraw practice to the new location at 212 Third St. Cheraw, SC which had been the original home of primary care & inpatient care for Cheraw patients. 

In August of 2022. Dr. Stroup completed the renovation of the rest of the 212 Third St location and established the Cheraw MedSpa offering the same services in Cheraw which are offered at the MedSpa on Market in Bennettsville.
